Open Days - Come and meet us
Every year, the Aerospace Engineering Faculty organizes an international Open Day parallel to the Dutch Open Dagen. This year the Open Day will take place on October 22nd, 2012. During this day we try to balance the day with different activities to give you an extensive picture of Aerospace Engineering in Delft. For most activities, International AE students will guide you in groups through our faculty. During our study presentation an admission officer will be present to answer questions about the application procedure & admission requirements.
Binding recommendation on continuation of studies
What prospective AE students need to know about the Binding recommendation on continuation of studies.
If you are going to study at Delft in 2012 you will receive a Binding recommendation on continuation of studies (generally known by its Dutch abbreviation BSA) at the end of the year.
TU Delft considers it important for you to spend some time during your first year – as well as beforehand – to decide whether you have chosen the right programme. If you get very few credits, it is likely that you have chosen the wrong programme. In that case, you need to think about other options.
That is why all students taking a Bachelor’s degree programme at TU Delft will receive a BSA at the end of their first year of study. This means that you will have to gain a certain minimum of 45 ECTS credits during your first year of studies in order to be allowed to proceed to the second year. Which is 3/4 of the total number of credits you can achieve during the first year.
Numerus clausus
Important: Due to increasing numbers of students TU Delft has introduced a Numerus clausus for first-year students for the Bachelor programmes Architecture, Industrial Design Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. This means that a place in these programmes cannot be guaranteed. Read more.
Selection for international students Aerospace Engineering from 2012
With effect from the academic year 2012-2013 the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering combines the allocation by lots and selection. The selection of international selection will be executed at the faculty. Those students who are not selected or applied too late to take part in the selection process will be relegated to the standard procedure of allocation by lots.
To be eligible for selection please follow the standard application procedure as outlined below (Application and enrolment website). All applications (hard copies of the required application documents) received before January 15, 2012 will be assessed. The focus will be on your motivation letter (why Aerospace Engineering and why at TU Delft), your CV and your grade list.
Make sure that you are also registered in Studielink before May 15, 2012, otherwise you cannot be placed even when you are selected by the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.
Foreign diploma
The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering is the only faculty at TU Delft that provides a complete English-language Bachelor’s degree programme. A foreign diploma enables admission to TU Delft if this is equivalent to a VWO (pre-university education) certificate and profile. TU Delft will check this after enrolment; TU Delft Student Administration can give you more information on this. You can also visit the English-language pages Admission and application.
Arrange a visit
Representatives of the Faculty also visit (international) schools to give presentations on the BSc and MSc programmes that we offer. We also attend eduction fairs at Secondary Schools. To discuss a visit to your school please email to study-ae@tudelft.nl.
